The Blossom Rally
TALSI, TALSU DISTRICT
May 22-24, 2009.
Organized by the SAAB Club of Latvia and the Antique Automobile Club of Latvia.
The SAAB Club of Latvia has been organizing various events for club members and SAAB supporters for many years and traditionally these events include an orienteering rally. This year, May 22-24, we wish to organize an outstanding spring ride together with the Antique Automobile Club of Latvia to give all the participants unforgettable sensations and a massive amount of adrenaline. We offer a chance to rub the rust off the brakes and blow the winter dust out of the exhaust pipes of your beloved vehicles.
The sportive part of this event will consist of several stages. On Saturday a 250km long route will lead you along and through the most beautiful sites of Talsu district but as soon as the spring sun will have vanished behind the horizon, the start signal will be given to the memorable "Gran Turismo" night rally. Not only will your chariots of different age be put to test, but also the geographical knowledge of your team when the organizers will try to get you off the track and your ability to remain coolheaded while dashing along the picturesque Mordanga roads.
A team may consist of as many people as your car is designed to seat. Therefore it is important to delegate the tasks during the race - who will be the pilot, who will be co-driver, co-driver nr.1, co-driver no.2 and who will ultimately settle any arguments.
You still have enough time to get familiar with map reading and prepare your wheels for the most beautiful event of the year at a time when nature awakens concurrently with our memories, hopes and the joy of meeting like-minded fellows.
During the event, the orienteering route will not be closed for traffic; hence the participants will be asked to obey the traffic laws but do rest assured that this will not lessen the suspense and the sportive spirit.
